Why I dance
I dance because it's where I come home to myself. When life gets overwhelming, movement brings me back to my body's wisdom and helps me separate what's truly important from all the external chatter that fills our daily lives. I get to challenge my inner critic, become part of a community and find lifelong friends.
We really weren't born to walk alone
I discovered and fell in love with Voguing and Waacking — styles that explore sensuality through movement, while being rooted in revolutionary spirit. These dances emerged from Black and Latinx LGBTQ+ communities as forms of protest against oppression, channels for "forbidden" (at the time) self-expression, and fierce assertions of their right to take up space. I do my best to honour and celebrate the resistance of how Vogue and Waacking came to be, and all the incredible people who fought to create spaces and communities where they could truly be themselves without fear.

Dance Classes
Speaking of fear… How often do we all feel like we are on the outskirts of a society telling us what we can and cannot be, how we can and cannot move, what we can and cannot wear. My classes are a place to embrace yourself, embrace the beauty of your body and to fall in love with yourself and your movement. My greatest ‘days at the office’ are when my students come alive with confidence and clarity of how fire they are!
These are offered as workshops, 1-1s and weekly classes.
